Threadbared.com was born out of a love of all things vintage (Mary) and all things snarky (Kimberly) (and, um…okay, Mary too). We combined our fondness for vintage sewing patterns with our need to be bitchy and mean and cruel. But since we are nice girls, too nice for that kind of behavior towards real people we can now take our frustrations out on guys like him:

And her:

Girl

And these kids too:

Kids

They are deserving of our mockery, yes?

In addition to running this website, we also have a book coming out in fall of 2006!  Threadbared: Decades of Don'ts from The Sewing and Crafting World will feature a few of our favorites from the site as well as a whole slew of new material, written just for you!

Mary_1

Mary Watkins is a native of Georgia and lives with her husband Andrew in Tucker, a small town just outside of Atlanta. A former marketing manager, she now spends her days as a writer and a somewhat lazy housewife. In her spare time she enjoys reading, listening to records and playing with her dog Rosie. A rebellious teenager at heart, Mary is currently working on her first young adult novel.

Kimberly_1

Kimberly Wrenn also lives outside of Atlanta.  She has a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology even though she doesn't seem all that smart.  She works as a psychologist, but not the kind that you're thinking of, so don't email her for advice or you'll be horribly disappointed. Her true passions (some may say obsessions) are well-fitting jeans, dogs of any shape, size or obesity level, Dr. Pepper, her own unruly head of hair, and making fun of fictional people with Mary. She is also hopelessly devoted to the quest for the perfect sunscreen.

Mary and Kimberly have no idea how to sew.
